Two lines of novel sophorolipid biosurfactants, developed by Locus Performance Ingredients® (Locus PI), is now REACH registered with the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) at 10-100 metric tons per year. The registrations give EU formulators access to multifunctional biosurfactant ingredients that improve product durability and performance.
The European expansion of Locus PI sophorolipids will be led by industry expert, Ronald Lieffering. Lieffering has 35+ years of strong international business management and specialty development experience and chemical products—including a published patent. His impressive resume includes R&D and leadership roles at leading specialty chemical companies. REACH Sophorolipids Helps EU Formulators Meet Growing Demand for Sustainable Ingredients
According to a Forrester survey, more than 50% of European adults agree that it is worth paying more for sustainable or environmentally friendly products. The Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) regulation was adopted to protect human health and the environment from harmful chemicals.
