Golar LNG’s top executive believes the company is in a strong position to secure a major contract from BP to supply a second floating liquefied natural gas vessel for the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim project ( GTA) on the coast of northwest Africa.
The supermajor is combing the market for the best solutions to develop the next stages of the GTA much longer than originally expected, having already ordered a converted 2.5 million tons per year of FLNG that ship – called Gimi – from Golar for phase 1.
